Travel Arrangements to your Holiday |
|
You have total flexibility when it comes to travel. The
following information about the various travel possibilities
may be helpful. Nevertheless, we would ask you to give serious
consideration to the environmental implications of air travel. |

|
|
Please note that our
financial protection
scheme is not authorised to cover air travel and therefore
we are unable to supply air travel as part of our holidays. Further, under current legislation there is no financial protection covering air tickets bought directly from an airline, including purchases from the airline's own website. This means that if the airline with which you are booked ceases to operate, you will lose your money. All rail and sea travel supplied by us as part of your holiday is, of course, fully protected. |

|
We strongly believe that your journey is part of your
holiday, and is a chance to relax from the very start. From
an Inter City train or a modern ferry you can enjoy the
scenery and the whole experience of travel, slowly immersing
yourself in another country and culture, instead of waiting
in the stressful atmosphere of an airport. We offer a full range of travel arrangements, allowing you to choose what is most convenient for you. If you want to buy a holiday without travel (for example if you are coming from overseas and will have a Eurail Pass, or if you are a shareholder in a ferry company), please contact us for information on Land Only prices. Alternatively, if you will be in Germany on business and want to spend a few days walking before returning to work, we can supply the rail tickets needed to get to where you plan to take your walking break. |
|
Rail Only (Eurostar) The easiest and most relaxing way to travel is usuallyby Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel. Most of Germany can be reached in a day from London, travelling via Brussels. Your onward route is shown on the appropriate tour page. Alternative routes are available for a small supplement. |

Rail & Sea Sail from Newcastle to Amsterdam, or from Harwich to Hoek van Holland with onward rail travel. The Harwich to Hoek van Holland crossing only operates by day for rail passengers, while the Newcastle to Amsterdam is an overnight crossing. You sail during the late afternoon the day before you arrive at your holiday destination, starting your holiday with dinner or a drink in the bar. By Car We offer inclusive prices for self-drive customers via Harwich to Hoek van Holland, either by day on the high speed HSS service or by night; via Eurotunnel through the Channel Tunnel and via Newcastle to Amsterdam. We can book most other ferry routes for you too. |

Sleeping Berth on Ferries Accommodation must be booked when travelling overnight. Cabins with private facilities are offered on all ferry routes. Meals on Ferries You can now pre-pay your meals on board at a useful saving compared with shipboard prices. Air & Rail If you want to fly, there are services from most UK airports. Flights may leave very early or very late in the day, and it may not always be possible to travel between the holiday area and the airport on the same day as your flight. Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Berlin Schönefeld, Dresden, Hannover, Leipzig-Halle, Friedrichshafen and Munich airports have rail stations. The underground connection to the main rail station at Nuremburg and bus transfers at other airports are not included. We do not supply air tickets ourselves, but you are welcome to ask us for advice. |
|
Fly / Drive If you prefer to drive from the airport to one of our single centre holidays, or when combining two single centre holidays, we can arrange a hire car for you at the airport. |
